We are a vegetarian, family-run Bed and Breakfast in Isleham near Ely. We pride ourselves in using fresh, local, organic home-grown food whenever possible. We supply fresh fruit every day and make all our own bread so our visitors can be assured of healthy and tasty food. We keep chickens to supply us with fresh eggs daily, and buy fair-trade products when available. We both enjoy cooking vegetarian food on our AGA and trying new recipes.
Set on the edge of the village in an acre of garden there are some beautiful views across the adjacent farmlands featuring the most amazing Fen sunsets. There are lots of good walking opportunities in the area with abundant wild life and birds.
We are animal lovers sharing our house with three cats and a Golden Retriever, and would welcome your dog by arrangement.
Having moved here six years ago from busy Cambridge to make more space for our furniture restoration business, opening the Bed and Breakfast seemed an ideal addition to our lives. We love having visitors and can organize workshop tours for anyone who is interested.
We aim to provide a comfortable, friendly and peaceful place to stay, away from the rush and hub–bub of life, but close to the amenities you may need to enjoy your visit.

It has a comfortable sitting room/dining room with sky TV, a sumptuous leather sofa beside the wood burner and large table to enjoy meals sourced from the wonderful butchers and fish shop in Kelso. The hemmel arch window allows the morning sun to bathe the sitting room/dining room in light. Starry skies are a delight also. The kitchen is well equipped and has a door onto the decking where you can relax on the new recliners and light up the barbeque and enjoy a magical view. One field away is the Eden water perfect for relaxing by, paddling, fishing and birdwatching.

Cliftonhill is a great place in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Walks a re breathtaking straight from your door. Please see the farm walk.
The river Eden is a small tributary of the Tweed which meanders through Cliftonhill. Perfect for picnics and paddling, there is nothing to disturb you but perhaps a grey heron or a kingfisher darting up the river in a blaze of colour. Trout and grayling can be caught, and there are plenty minnows.
Roe deer and foxes can often be seen moving between Heron wood and Jocks wood. Greenland is a clump of willows, ideal for bird watching. The R.S.P.B. counted more than 40 types of bird on Cliftonhill, including several that are on their endangered list. Help us monitor our biodiversity by listing the wildlife you encounter, with date and approximate location, in the nature log - there is one in each cottage.
Kelso
Kelso was described by Sir Walter Scott as 'The most beautiful, if not the most romantic town in Scotland'. It has a glorious setting, nestling in the Cheviots, with the River Tweed sweeping round the backs of pretty Georgian cottages and the unusual octagonal parish church. The 18th century cobbled square and handsome townhouses give Kelso the elegant air of a French market town.
There are reminders of the towns magnificent medieval past in the ruins of its Romanesque Abbey, built for David I in 1128. It was one of the biggest abbeys in the area before it was razed to the ground in 1545 during Scotlands rough wooing by Henry VIII. Floors Castle is the largest inhabited castle in Scotland and you can wander through spectacular staterooms filled with priceless European paintings, tapestries and furnishings.
Today the cobbled square has a wonderful collection of shops...cashmere, finest tweeds, pottery, gifts, pictures and material. Tweedside Tackle and Orvis are helpful for fishing and shooting, Wylies the buthchers for really good beef, and Lees the Butcher and Delicatessen, Collins an amazing fish shop and there is a unique assortment of gift shops including Itzy Bitzy opposite the Abbey and gifted in Roxburgh Street. Lovely clothes shops including Flemings in the square and Sara Thompsons. The Art House for interesting paintings. Eating places and coffee shops are numerous and I am happy to give recommendations during your stay.

The Area
The Village of Rustington contains a conservation area which has the largest number of historic buildings around including some of the finest 17th and 18th century Sussex flint cottages, some of which are thatched
The beaches are the closest attraction and after Rustington's, the best is found at Climping, a with stretch of unspoilt and undeveloped sand dunes.
West Sussex is one of the most beautiful of the English counties with its range of hills, the South Downs National Park, lying just to the north. They offer breathtaking views, solitude, and invigorating walks, combined with fascinating glimpses into the past, pre-historic burial mounds, forts, Roman Roads, villas and medieval villages. By car too they offer much, with a network of narrow lanes coming upon quaint, hidden hamlets (and real pubs). Lanes such as those to the top of Bignor Hill or Kithurst Hilll enable the motorist to enjoy much of what the Downs have to offer.
The area abounds in stately homes, castles (Arundel), Roman villas (Bignorand Fishbourne).
In addition Chichester is an attractive old city with its Cathedral and Theatre, its nearby 'harbour' has some of the best sailing areas in the U.K. with boat hire and sailing school facilities. Littlehampton also offers the same, with off-shore and deep-sea fishing also available.
There are several golf courses in the area including Rustington's own golf centre plus plenty of horse riding schools.
Horse racing can be enjoyed at the nearby Fontwell Park Racecourse and Goodwood famous for the 'Festival of speed' and 'Revival' events, in its beautiful downland setting, round-off the picture, although nowhere near complete it.

]]>Some background… we purchased Knapps Farm B&B in the spring of 2007.
We have since made numerous improvements to the farmhouse and grounds and have now decided to restart the B&B. Improvements include; 2008 the kitchen was completely renewed with hand made solid oak units by a local craftsman; 2008 decided to have 3 Alpacas, which after a few years of breeding the herd has now increased to 21; 2009 we had the small pond extended to an acre fishing lake stocked with Carp; 2010 we added a large glass roofed conservatory which makes an ideal place to sit and relax, especially for star-gazing. 2011 Knapps Farm Campanile was constructed which is 8 Bells, 10lb Mini Ring and shortly to be augmented to 12. We are situated in a very picturesque area with outstanding views to Bath and we can even see the White Horse at Westbury.
We can offer 2 rooms. Room 1 (Wool Down) is a double with shower en-suite and views over the Alpacas. Room 2 (Lake View) can either be a twin or a queen double with bath en-suite and views over the lake. Both rooms have been tastefully decorated and furnished with free view TV, free Wi-Fi, complementary tray, fruit and bottled water.

Wool Down Room
Wool Down is a double bedroom with a shower en-suite (towels supplied). Also in the room is a wardrobe, chest of drawers with matching bedside cabinet, table lamps, flat screen Freeview TV, complimentary tray with tea, coffee and biscuits, bowl of fruit, bottled water and hairdryer. There is also complimentary shoe shine, cotton wool buds, cotton wool, shampoo/conditioner and shower gel. The room has views over the Alpacas.
Lake View Room can either be a twin or super king with bath en-suite (towels supplied).and views over the lake. We are situated in an ideal place for those wishing to visit the numerous attractions around Somerset and the Mendip Hills (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). We have the Royal Bath and West Showground just 10 minutes drive away, or Chedder Caves, Wookey Hole, Longleat,Wells Cathedral and the historic City of Bath plus many more that are just a short drive away. We also have many walking areas for those who like to explore the outside. There is a footpath and bridleway just minutes’ walk away from our farm. Walk across some of the fields and you may see the deer grazing in the grass, see as far as the White Horse at Westbury plus there are many excellent Mountain Biking routes and Potholing caves available for the more adventurous. For nature lovers you’re welcome to help feed our Alpacas, fish or ducks on the farm plus we have many visits from Canadian Geese who stop off at the farm to feed and water - we’ve had over 140 land at one time!

Welcome to Jennie Collingridge Newmarket Property
I have been running self-catering properties in Newmarket for the past 10 years and many of my first clients are still returning each year, whether for the sales, racing, holidays or the opportunity to visit relations who live locally.
Whilst racing and the bloodstock sales are obviously Newmarket’s prime attraction, its proximity to Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds and Ely makes it an ideal base from which to explore historic East Anglia. It is also easily accessible by public transport, either by train or coach, and wherever possible I collect my clients from the station or coach stop.
Both my apartments are centrally located within a few minutes’ walk from the High Street and sales paddocks and on race days there is a free bus service to and from the racecourse.
As a professional cook, I like to ensure that my kitchens are fully equipped, having endured a few holidays abroad where cooking equipment was, to say the least, limited!
We have excellent supermarkets — namely Tesco, Waitrose and Marks and Spencer — as well as a market on Tuesday and Saturday and some of the best butchers in the region.
However, Newmarket has plenty of good pubs and restaurants, again within walking distance of the flats, and the surrounding villages have a wide variety of different pubs to suit every taste. Takeaways are also easily available either for collection or delivery.

Belmont Court High Street Newmarket
A spacious, comfortable two bedroom apartment within easy walking distance of the Rowley Mile Racecourse, Tattersalls Sales Paddocks and 200 metres from Newmarket town centre, 6 Belmont Court has the advantage that it is very quiet as well as having its own private garage and ample parking space. There is one large twin bedroom and a second double bedroom with a king-size bed (if preferred this can be separated into two children’s 2ft 6 in beds). The very sunny sitting room has ample seating and a TV and video with hatch through to the kitchen, while the kitchen itself was completely renovated at the beginning of 2007 and is fully equipped, with cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine etc.
There is also a dining area with dining table and chairs. The newly-fitted bathroom has an electric shower as well as a bath, shaving points etc. The flat has full central heating, constant hot water and benefits from double glazing.
Prices are all inclusive of linen, towels, water, electricity and a ‘welcome pack’ of tea, coffee, milk, butter and bread provided on arrival.
Pets are not permitted.
There is a bus stop right outside the flat for local buses to Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds; the main bus station is 5 minutes’ walk away, and the coaches stop in the middle of the High Street 3-4 minutes’ walk from the flat. The train station, from which trains run to Cambridge and Ely, is approximately 10 minutes’ walk.
Ashbourne Court Newmarket
A one-bedroom apartment, furnished to a very high standard in a prestigious new block 3 minutes’ walk from the High Street and town centre. The development is gated to ensure maximum privacy and security and there is a designated parking space within the courtyard.
The apartment comprises a double bedroom (with large double or twin beds), large bathroom with bath and shower and a spacious open-plan kitchen/living area with TV and video. It has full central heating and constant hot water and the kitchen is extremely well-equipped, with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and combined washing machine/dryer.

Welcome to Rose-Fitt House, our Gold Award winning Guesthouse, offering stylish Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a warm, friendly, informal, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.
Rose-Fitt House is a beautiful Victorian Guesthouse, totally and lovingly refurbished to a high standard, situated in a fabulous location overlooking Lincoln Green and the sea. Glorious, sandy, ‘Blue Flag’ award winning beaches and the start of the Norfolk Coastal Path can be found one hundred yards away. We are ideally situated between Titchwell and Snettisham RSPB bird reserves.
Rose-Fitt House was built in 1897 using locally quarried carrstone. In it’s earlier years as a guesthouse and later a nursing home, it was called ‘Boston View’. The house was renamed in the 80’s after research showed a ‘Mr Rose’ and a ‘Mr Fitt’, were prominent names on the first lease of the property.
In 2003 the house was purchased in need of major refurbishment, and after 11 months, Rose-Fitt House Bed and Breakfast was opened.with just two guest rooms completed.
It now has five tastefully appointed Four Star Gold Award guest rooms, consisting of a twin room on the ground floor, a double, a king-size and a family suite on the first floor, and a family suite on the second floor. Rooms to the front elevation enjoy magnificent sea views. All rooms have en-suite shower facilities, flat screen tv with freeview / dvd /cd, ipod / iphone docking station with clock and radio, hairdryer, well stocked toiletries and hospitality tray, plus other useful items. The house benefits from a full fire alarm system and external fire escape staircase.
There is plenty of on-street, safe car parking and limited off-street car parking. Secure cycle and motorbike parking is available.
The house is situated in a quiet residential area overlooking Lincoln Square Green, where you can sit on a warm evening and watch the sunset into the sea, Hunstanton being the only town on the East coast that actually faces west !
We are a few minutes walk from the town centre, where there are several cafes, restaurants, many shops, theatre / cinema, ten-pin bowling, sea life centre, amusements, fun fair and other facilities.
A hundred yards from the house are the famous red and white striped cliffs, with access to beautiful safe sandy Blue Flag Award winning beaches, and also the start of the Norfolk Coastal Path leading to Cromer.
Rooms are available between 2 and 3pm, or between 5.30 and 6.30 pm on the day of arrival. Please contact us to let us know your preference or to make alternative arrangements. Guests are requested to vacate rooms before 10.30 on the day of departure.

Hayloft
ne bedroom apartment has been converted keeping its ancient authenticity creating a modern, cosy retreat. Its high beamed ceiling, original doorways and hatches allow you to watch the hens, ducks, horses and sheep as well as wonderful views over the countryside. The bedroom has a twin beds with comfortable mattresses, anti allergy duvets and pillows, clean, crisp linen and cosy throws. Beds can be made up as a super king size double on request. The Hayloft is spacious with room for additional beds or a cot if required.
Lupin Cottage impresses even the most discerning of our guests! We're told it is very good indeed!
The ground floor is 'open-plan' overlooking the sheltered walled garden. The high quality kitchen has a ceramic hob, fan assisted oven, grill, microwave and fridge. There is plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses with a table to seat 4 (or 6). The generous, comfortable lounge with digital TV and DVD also has a bed settee for extra guests, and a back door to access the garden.
Lupin Cottage's 2 twin bedrooms each have private staircases and en-suite facilities. The comfortable, back care beds have soft non allergy pillows and duvets and either can, by arrangement, be made up as a double.
THE ROUND HOUSE
Granted the prestigious Visit Britain GOLD Award The Round House is a truly unusual, circular-roofed, barn conversion completed in December 2009. Originally built (c.1750) as a "horse engine shed" or "gin house", two horses would be walked in a circle to drive farm machinery in the adjoining mill and granary. The immediate response of guests is to describe this barn accommodation as 'stunning'. The high open ceiling shows off the beautiful original beams, highlighted by spotlights. Large double glazed windows flood the sitting room with light and allow views of "The Wrekin" and a glazed stable door in the bedroom provides views across the paddock. The luxury kitchen has a fridge freezer, an electric double oven and ceramic hob, a microwave, a dishwasher and a washer dryer with a dining table to seat four. There is plenty of cutlery and crockery, [for unexpected guests] a toaster and kettle. The sitting room and kitchen are open plan with a 37" flat screen TV and DVD. A red leather sofa and chair complete the room.
There are two bedrooms, a ground floor double/twin bedroom and a single, galleried bedroom on a mezzanine floor accessed from the double bedroom by a space saving staircase. Comfortable "back care" mattresses and non-allergy pillows and duvets with crisp bedlinen make your stay more enjoyable. To add flexibility, the sofa converts to a double bed.
