Just 9 miles North West of Newcastle and set in the idyllic surrounding of 200 acres of grass farm, Eland Green Farm provides self catering holiday homes to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city.
Breath-taking sights of the Cheviot Hills from the farm, but within half a mile of friendly pubs, shops and restaurants.
Recently converted from a 250 year old stable block, Eland Green Farm Cottages give the luxury of modern interiors but with loads of character. Graded 3 star. Each cottage has a double room, a twin room and each can have a single folding bed put up in the lounges. There is also a cot for each one, so therefore the whole building, which can be opened up to run as one, sleeps 10 + 2 babies.
Children are very welcome, with lots for them to do, with a small games room, including a table tennis table, small snooker / pool table, darts, etc. There is also a hard tennis court in the 1 acre + garden (tennis court open April - October) BBQ also available. Wi-fi is also available during your stay.
There is also a chance that visitors will see a glimpse of red squirrels in the garden or on the farm.
Our Cottages:
The Old Tack Room:
Small second sitting room downstairs, the rest being upstairs, comprising, a lounge / dining room, a kitchen/ breakfast room, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a large bathroom which has a separate shower cubicle.
The Old Stables:
Large lounge/dining room, a kitchen and a bathroom with a separate shower cubicle downstairs and a double & twin bedroom upstairs.
Each property has full oil central heating (included in price), electric cooker, microwave, fridge / freezer, TV, which includes Freeview, a video recorder / DVD player, radio / cassette / CD player. Linen & electricity are also included in price, but towels are extra. Highchair available. There is also a cot available in both cottages.
Private off-road parking available at door
We do also have another 4 cottages on the farm and 1 in Alnwick, which areoccasionally available, you will have to call or email us for more details.
Prices start from £225 to £515 per week, per cottage.
The Northumberland Area:
We are situated close to Ponteland (within half a mile) it is a large village / small town with plenty of shops for everyday living, as well as pubs and restaurants. Although the farm is situated on the edge of glorious countryside, it is not isolate.
Our cottages are located within a short drive of Belsay Hall, Castle & gardens (English Heritage) & Wallington Hall (National Trust). Both Newcastle upon Tyne and the Metro Centre are within half an hour’s drive for shopaholics and within three quarters of an hour’s drive there is Alnwick Castle and gardens, Warkworth and Dunstinburgh Castles, as well as lovely, clean, uncrowded sandy beaches. Going south into County Durham, Beamish Open Air Museum is within driving distance and both the Lake District & Edinburgh are within a 2 hour drive.
